A number of these experiences are unique to Classic Battlefield Tours. All have been tried, tested and improved to reach a very high standard so that you won’t be disappointed. They all include a lunch option.
These are our standard tours designed for groups of up to
15 persons, unless otherwise stated. We offer bespoke tours for groups, families or individuals which can be tailor-made to meet a particular period and location of military history.
Guards Museum and lunch
Get ready for changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace from inside the barracks. This is followed by a guided tour of the Guards Museum which has 10 original Victoria Cross medals which these regiments have won over the years. Lunch is at the famous Grenadier Pub in a private room.

Bovington Tank Museum
A guided tour of this famous museum which traces the history of the tank from the trenches of WW1 to the modern-day battlefield. See the first tank ‘Little Willy’, the famous Tiger 1 tank and right up to today’s Challenger 2 tank. The tour will include looking inside some of the tanks in the Vehicle Conservation Centre.
Shooting at Bisley
This is a 45-minute shooting experience at the famous Bisley shooting range in Surrey. You will be shooting semi-automatic .22 rimfire Rugers at a 25 yard turning target. We will build up the experience so that you will have only 3 seconds to shoot the target before it turns away.
And why not have lunch at one of the old shooting clubs in Bisley with a guided tour of their museum? This is open to groups of 10 or individuals.

Ever been to Bovington or a similar Museum but been frustrated that you can’t get inside the tank to see what it is like? Now you can. We have access to a WW2 German Marder III tank. See how cramped the conditions were. Understand how slim, once hit, was the chance of survival – especially for the driver. These tours are strictly limited to a maximum of 10 people and you need to be in reasonable shape to get in and out of these tanks.
Shooting in France
In France, there is a shooting range which is staffed by ex-Royal Marines, where you can fire semi-automatic full bore weapons that are unavailable in the UK. These include Glock and Smith & Wesson, and the opportunity to use and familiarise with historic and iconic firearms. This is a full day experience and lunch is included. The price This is strictly limited to a group of 8 people.
This is a self-drive experience and you are accompanied by a tour leader to ensure that your tour runs smoothly.
