Itinerary

Day 1

Catch the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo.

Day 2

Arrive at a secluded shooting range which is staffed by ex-Royal Marines. Here you will shoot automatic pistols such as Glocks and Smith & Wessons, which are prohibited in the UK. In the afternoon we move onto semi-automatic assault rifles, such as AK47’s.

Day 3

Drive to Saint Nazaire. Visit the enormous U-Boat pens and see where the famous raid (Operation Chariot) on the dry dock took place involving the obsolete destroyer HMS Campbeltown. This dry dock was not used again until 1948. Then a very pleasant drive to one of the most beautiful Chateaux for a guided tour and wine tasting.

Day 4

Visit the Tank Museum at Saumur which is on par with Bovington in the UK. It has a number of German and Allied tanks which were left on the battlefields of Normandy. After lunch, visit the cellars and vineyards of Gratien & Mayer one of the best sparkling wines of Saumur.

Day 5

On the way home, we visit Le Mans and the fascinating museum.
