This tour will be covering both aspects of this operation. Operation Market was the airborne assault whilst Operation Garden was armoured attack along Hell’s Highway. Unfortunately, it was a badly planned operation and ultimately failed.

This is a bespoke tour

The cost – includes breakfast, hotel accommodation, coach, museums and guide, but not food and drinks – is £1,250 per person. Please note that this is the cost of a single occupancy in a single room as we wish to be open with the all-inclusive costs. A discount of 10% is available for bookings with two people sharing a room.

You are accompanied by a tour leader to ensure that your tour runs smoothly.

Brian Shaw is an Ex Warrant Officer in the Parachute Regiment who has been leading battlefield tours for the past twenty years.

Itinerary

Day 1

Meet at Ashford International Railway Station Car Park. Catch the coach to Geel.

Day 2

Visit the sites of the armoured advance of Operation Garden along Hells Highway, including Joe’s bridge, Eindhoven Bridge, Son Canal Bridge and Nijmegen Bridge.

Day 3

Guided Tour of the Battle of Arnhem from the landing on Ginkel Heath to the road bridge in Arnhem and many sites in between.

Day 4

Return home via Ghent.
