SOE in Tangmere Airfield Walk with Andy Saunders – Friday 28th April 2023 – SOLD OUT
Come and learn more about the fascinating and dangerous role played by the SOE in WWII and the close connection with Tangmere Airfield. The morning will consist of a guided tour of the museum with one of the museum’s curators. Special emphasis will be placed on the SOE exhibition within the museum. This tour will be followed by a pub lunch at the local popular Gribble Inn. In the afternoon Andy Saunders, the renowned military & aviation historian, will host a discussion in the museum on the SOE and the logistics of flying agents into occupied France.
Andy Saunders is a writer and researcher specialising in military and aviation history. He has been involved in this work for over 40 years and was co-founder and the first curator of Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, Britain’s most successful independent aviation museum.
He was editor of ‘Britain at War’ magazine, then the UK’s best-selling military history monthly, until September 2018. He is currently editor of a specialist military history magazine, launched in June 2019, called Iron Cross, which features German military history 1914 – 1945.
